November London Python meetup

There were some people who weren't able to make it to last week's restrained and dignified London Python meetup, 'cos it hadn't been arranged sufficiently far in advance, so I'm planning the next one now. It'll be on Wednesday the 15th of November.

I'll announce a venue a bit nearer the time. The Stage Door is a very nice pub, but it's a bit small, and sometimes very noisy, so I'm looking for somewhere a but more suitable for a techie meetup. Any suggestions? (No, not the bloody Bank of England.)

If it were to be a good distance from anywhere that's open 'till the small hours selling cocktails and containing femme fatale redheads, that would be an advantage.

Please add a comment if you think you might be coming.

Not so far out as The Stage Door would be good. :-)

for the sake of my liver I vote for someplace without a late licence.

Simon, have you no sense of adventure?

If you want somewhere out of the way the Grace Hotel [1] does a decent pint.

Hi, I've been thinking for a while of popping up from Brighton and saying Hello. If you could pick a venue that's close to Victoria or London Bridge then I could jump on a train after work. Tube is fine, as long as I can get back before the last train :-)

If there's interest, I could always talk a little about our ShowMeDo.com and where we'd like to take things with our educational Python videos?

I am interested in joining to you guys. I am a beginner for python. Is there any chance?

Nandana - please, yes, beginners more than welcome.

Would be very pleased to come to any sensible central London venue. Thanks for organising.

May I suggest "The Cooperage" at London Bridge. Very easy to get to by both tube and overland, with a fine selection of excellent beer. Lots of room to chat, and plenty of places along Tooley Street to pub/club on afterwards if needs be.

Thanks Pete.

Wow - http://beerintheevening.com has never heard of it!

I'll be there tonight.
Just to double-check: the venue is the one on the google calendar, right (The Porterhouse, 21-22 Maiden Lane, Covent Garden, London, WC2E 7NA) ?

Yup, The Porterhouse.

In future, this is the place to go to London Python meetup info:
