The LibDems take a strong stand against tax cuts and a strong one in favour of public services: they would make long-term residential care for the elderly free across the UK, and scrap university tuition fees. They are in favour of a ban on smoking in public places, but would relax laws on cannabis. They propose to change vehicle taxation to be based on usage rather than ownership.
Take the test at Who Should You Vote For
Not much surprise there. Except, that is, that the UKIP came out positive. I can't imagine how that happened...
Via badly dubbed boy.
Posted to The Big Room by Simon Brunning at April 13, 2005 04:04 PMI got this: No surprise realy:
Who should I vote for?
Your expected outcome:Liberal Democrat
Your actual outcome:
Liberal Democrat 92
Green 22
Labour -8
UK Independence Party -22
Conservative -65
Thinking about it, I wonder if saying that fox hunting shouldn't be banned went against me. Not that I approve of hunting, you understand; it's just that I feel it's a matter of individual conscience, and that the state shouldn't intervene.
Posted by: Simon Brunning on April 13, 2005 05:25 PMInteresting weighting they must be using - changing my "foxhunting shouldn't be banned" from Agree to Strongly Agree moves me from the Greens to UKIP!
I was Neutral on the EC and Disagree on the Euro, so not sure about that, anyway!
Just did this from another blog and people there are also very surprised by the relatively strong showing for UKIP. For me, Lib Dem first by quite some way, then the Greens. All the others were negative (I expect my 'Strongly Disagree' on the subject of ID cards and so on went against Labour), but UKIP were the least negative.

Pretty clear - but again, some UKIP.
Posted by: Sujatin on April 14, 2005 12:34 PMI was surprised to see UKIP and Green equal top on mine (!)
Disregarding any parties that I know I wouldn't vote for (the two mentioned above), it had Lib Dems at the top... Which is where I'm planning on going...
