Silence

No music today. :-(

The bad new is that my earphones have died. The good news is that the iPod is still happy. :-)

Still, I can't live without music for long, so I'll have to get some new earphones this evening. Anyone got any recommendations as to good in-ear 'phones at a fairly reasonable price? I'm not an audiophile, but I do need something fairly decent.

I'll pick them up on the way to Genes, worms and the new genetics. Anyone else going?

Maybe there's a "what headphones" mag or web site ;-)
If you're _that_ bothered I'd go to dixons (or equivalent) and buy the most expensive pair.

Sony EX71
Shure E2C

I've had both (well, EX70, not EX71, but the 71 replaces the 70) and prefer the Shures. The Sony's are quite bass-heavy, while the Shure's are drier but have more detail. The Shures are a lot more isolating.

Thanks, Stuart.

I think I'll look at the Sony EX71s. They are a little over half the price, and I *like* bass heavy.

Well bass heavy is obligatory, surely, with a dad like yours ;-)

Anything by Sennheiser;

I've got the PX 100's which sounds absolutely fantastic for only about £20. They aren't in ear, but at least the band won't mess up your hair Simon. And they collapse up into a very nice (and compact) carrying case so they always travel with me and my iPod.

I like my etymotic ER6, but they might not be 'a reasonable price'.
