The act of removing weeds from one's garden

You'll have to be gentle with me today. My little brother got married this weekend, and I'm a little fragile today.

I've put up the first of what will probably be a number of image galleries - Dan & Abby's Wedding, September 2004.

A few highlights; the bride and groom, the bridesmaids (my daughters and nieces), the bride and groom with the best man and ushers, with me on the left looking pretty dapper, if I do say so myself.

Thanks to Les for these pictures. If you have any more, please send them to me...

Update: Another gallery. These pictures are from Mum, which is why they are mostly of my sister and I, and of our offspring. ;-)

Update 12th October: A late entry, this - yet another gallery, this one featuring the lovely Laura, Claire and Cass, and the not quite so lovely John and Dan. ;-) Thanks to Keiran for these.

It was a wonderful day. And you did look the bee's knees. I know I would say that, being your proud Mum, but it's true. You've been born at the wrong time. Alternatively, you could just buck the trend and dress like that all the time. But is there room for a gentleman's gentleman in your flat?

I agree - after all we didn't know that Simon could brush up, let alone - and dare I say it - quite so well.

I'll be in a state of shock all day ;-)

A compliment, from Mark? *I'll* be in a state of shock all day too!

Very nice, although you could have made an effort and had a shave. Razords are very reasonably priced these days ;-)

Ah, abuse. That's *much* more like it.

I shaved my head that very morning, I'll have you know.

If the IT market crashes any further you'll always be able to get a job as a bouncer in Colliers Wood, or if you could look miserable there's a great future in the undertaking business ('cept you would probably drop he coffin).

I don't think I'd last very long in Colliers Wood with a pink cravat, Steve.

Good to see what you look like; I've only seen one picture of you before. I didn't know you are a Dad - it looks like your two girls are about the same ages as my kids. Still visiting your site daily. --David

The pink cravat will get you a lot of "respect" on the street. Honest. The Colliers Wood posse will take one look and run for their lives.

You and your sister have offspring? Man, they must do things differently on your side of the pond!

Oh, I think you'll find 'close' families are pretty common in the Deep South, Doug. ;-)

Of course, I should have said our *respective* offspring...

With that title I expected to hear your slant on the similar Pragmatic Programmer post.

Hi Simon

Just found your pics. Looks like a very jolly and interesting day. All those complicated relationships in one room. Wow. Glad to see that your dad made it.
How did they manage to swing it to get George Best as a bell ringer. (Boom boom)

Love from Aunty Kathy
