I've ranted about umbrellas before, and my feelings haven't changed. One more thing, though - why do people insist on using umbrellas even when it isn't bloody raining any more! Gits.

Is so we'll know who to put up against the wall when the revolution comes.
Ray Jardine will tell you  that it's to protect you from too much sun during your Pacific Crest Trail hike. Of course, you need to buy a special lightweight one  so it won't be too heavy to carry for 2600+ miles.
