Just wondering if I'd mention my blog in a job interview.
I'd be worried people who didn't get it might fear that I'd give away company secrets or something equally stupid (then again, would I want to work for them then?).

If you already have a blog, you can tell them about it, and they can see for themselves that you don't divulge company or client information. (You'll notice, for instance, that my company, my clients, and my colleagues are never named in this blog.)

If they are so stupid as to worry about the kind of thing that you might mention on your blog without bothering to visit it, then no, you don't want to work for them. ;-)

Simon, you mentioned at least one of your colleagues by name in your post about jam.

I'm hoping that my blog (well one of them) will help me get a job because frankly I need all of the help I can get.

OK, I don't use my colleagues *full* names - only their given names. Not enough to identify them if you don't already know who they are. or to be able to google for them.
