Steve's having trouble with his iPod headphones and his he'll-grow-into-them ears.
I'd recommend that you pick up some Sony MDR-EX71s, Steve. (Now available in white!) I had a pair of these, and they sound fabulous.
My pair died, but Tulna's had hers for ages, so I think that I was just unlucky. I picked up some cheap 'n' cheerfuls, but they are no good at all, so I'll be picking up another set of EX71s when I see them.
BTW, is it just me that can't see Haloscan? I can't see the haloscan comments on any of the blogs that use them (Steve's, the London Java blog, witho etc.), and I haven't been able to for some days now.
Posted to iPod by Simon Brunning at February 24, 2005 12:40 PMI, on the other hand, have weeny ears so headphones get really painful after a bit. Surely there is a market for different sized earphones?
Posted by: Katherine on February 24, 2005 01:10 PMI'm a little more bothered by the fact that Apple have just anounced a 6GB iPod Mini, a serious hike in battery life and a £40.00 price cut. Bleedin' typical if you ask me, my PC was out of date a day after I bought it too.
Most of my friends are a little past their sell by date as well.
Thanks for the earphone tip, I just spotted that Apple do a set of "in ear" phones. I might get some of those and then watch them release a better, cheaper pair a week later.

Posted by: Steve on February 24, 2005 04:28 PMI haven't noticed a problem with haloscan...
Oh, and BTW, I *will* sort out my feed when I've got time, honest!
It's always been Sony MDR-G42/G52 behind-the-ear units for me. But I gave in and drank the translucent white kool-aid and now I'm rather liking the iPod earphones...
Posted by: Peter da Silva on March 6, 2005 11:12 PMjust wondering, which is better (or is it exactly same?) MDR-G42 or G52?
Posted by: Naru on April 1, 2005 09:27 PMI've got the MDR-G42
how come the right speaker is much quieter/softer then the left speaker? i've noticed this with other earphone headsets as well...
