A Mighty Relief

As men of discernment agree, Spinal Tap is one of the two funniest films ever made (with the other being Life of Brian). So it was with considerable trepidation that I went to see A Mighty Wind at the weekend.

I needn't have worried. It was brilliant. As with Tap, the humour came from going just that 1% over the top.

Recommended.

Best In Show by the same people was on last night - and I missed it! Supposed to be good though

Bah! I missed it too! Which channel was it on?

Really? I wasn't very impressed with A Mighty Wind. I was expecting something a little more... amusing. There were so many jokes that could be made about the painful sincerity of that music and time, but instead it was just... not that funny. Best In Show was much better, IMHO.

I've not seen Best In Show - I'll keep an eye out for it.

As for A Mighty Wind - well, it made *me* laugh, but reasonable men can differ.
