You need Safari. Or failing that Firebird.

Seriously, how does Safari compare with Firebird? And can you run Firebird (or Mozilla) on OSX?
Posted by: Simon Brunning on January 22, 2004 01:43 PMSafari is supposed to be ace, and firebird does claim to support OSX
Posted by: sam on January 22, 2004 02:09 PMI use both Safari and Firebird on OS X, and I'm currently using Safari as my default browser, basically because its integration with the rest of the OS is that tiny bit better than Firebird's. It loads fast, has tabbed browsing and the vast majority of sites I visit work fine in it. I've also moved away from using tabs (using multiple windows instead) because Expose allows me to see ALL of my browser windows on screen at once by flicking my mouse in to the corner of the screen.
Posted by: Simon Willison on January 22, 2004 04:16 PMI'd say there's very little to choose between Firebird and Safari under OS X in terms of their web browsing. The main advantage Safari has is that its user interface is a bit more polished and Mac-like. Unlike Simon W, I make a lot of use of the tabbed browsing in Safari: I like being able to open a dozen or so related pages in a single window, then move away and do something else for a while. Having a couple of dozen browser windows to navigate through would be a pain, I think. Better to have one with material for weblog entries, one for news stories and another for Movable Type. But that's getting way off the point, so I'll stop rambling now.
The bottom line is that Safari and Firebird are both pretty good, and IE certainly isn't.
