Whatever happened to pressure cookers?

Everybody used to have a pressure cooker, but I can't remember the last time I saw one.

Microwave ovens happened to pressure cookers.

But twenty years from now we will be asking, "Whatever happened to microwave ovens?"

We still have one, and I'd love to say that I use it... but that wouldn't be true (my domain is the BBQ). But my wife uses the pressure cooker regularly (we mainly use the microwave for heating pre-cooked meals).

The French use them a lot. I'm scared of them - I think they'll explode or something...

You can still buy them (Prestige as well) from the local Co-op department store in my town. I assume most places still have them for sale if you look.
