Steve and I will be meeting up tomorrow evening at Cubana, near Waterloo, to sample the cocktails. In responsible quantities, naturally.
All welcome.
Then, after we've sampled the cocktails in responsible quantities, I don't doubt that we'll go on to sample them in irresponsible quantities. (And these are proper cocktails, mind. None of your poncy Baileys here.)
If anyone does fancy coming along, leave a comment, and I'll bung you my mobile number.
Posted to Apropos of nothing by Simon Brunning at July 29, 2003 02:32 PMSimon, you know that you won't be able to get drunk on that fruit juice stuff, don't you.
Steve, take an audio notes recorder and get us all an MP3 of Simon saying 'mojito' or 'daiquiri' after having consumed a number of each. :)
Posted by: Paul on July 29, 2003 02:42 PMHell, I can't pronounce them properly *before* drinking them. ;-)
Anyway, Paul, come along and record me yourself!
Posted by: Simon Brunning on July 29, 2003 02:43 PMLove to mate, but am at Ninja Class... maybe next time. Perhaps he does need the Ninja training too, and should come with me instead, after all it might give him (i) a sense of balance (ii) some notions on having his hands and feet coordinated, and (iii) less chance of trapping his fingers in his PC under his desk.
Although, we all know Simon doesn't need to be fighting Ninja's to have his teeth knocked out, just (a) Reason to drink (like Company Day Out), (b) Many large glasses of Port (c) Set of Stairs (d) Simon's uncanny ability to be clumsy, even to the risk of his own life.
I may be available for a quick shandy (or two). I'll check with the other parental unit ...
Posted by: Andy Todd on July 29, 2003 02:50 PMStanding (sitting) corrected at my desk, as I now am, for the official record (a) above includes "well, the pub let me in didn't they" and all equivalent phrases (over all time and space and universes) as passed through the innards of a Bable Fish ;-)
Posted by: Mark Matthews on July 29, 2003 02:52 PMMark,
If I had deadly fingertips, I would undoubtedly poke myself in the neck and kill myself within a month. How many people I would accidentally kill on the tube in the meantime I shudder to think. So, Ninja training is probably a bad idea.
You need a *reason* to drink?
Andy,
It would be great to see you.
What time do the festivities kick off then?
Posted by: Andy Todd on July 29, 2003 03:09 PMOh, six thirty for seven, say. Good for you?
Posted by: Simon Brunning on July 29, 2003 03:15 PMSo, are they saying that you are a tad on the clumsy side Simon? Did you tell 'em about the mancunian sunglass salesman at GuilFest?
Posted by: Stevan Rose on July 29, 2003 03:27 PMSteve,
Hey, that was *your* fault! If you'd *drunk* the beer, I wouldn't have spilt it, would I? ;-)
Fix the problem, not the blame. Or is it the other way round?
